What are some good ways to control your game sessions and stop points?

I often find myself getting a bit lost in the moment when I'm playing online games, particularly those fast-paced ones where things happen really quickly. I'll start with good intentions, but then an hour vanishes, and sometimes I've gone way past my personal limits. It's tough to self-regulate when it's so engaging. What are some effective strategies or practical tips you all use to control your game sessions and establish clear stop points before you even begin playing? I could really use some advice there.

I completely understand that feeling! It’s easy to get absorbed. My personal experience has shown that pre-defining my session parameters makes a massive difference. Before I even click 'start game,' I decide on a clear time limit, say 20 minutes, and also a specific win goal or a stop-loss amount. Adhering to these firm limits, regardless of what's happening during the rounds, prevents me from making impulsive decisions later on. This method of timing and session control to shape better results really helps keep my focus sharp and avoids the common pitfall of emotional play. I actually found a great resource about this that changed my approach
